It has been a busy and enjoyable year here at South End Antique Mall.  We have loved meeting and visiting with each of you and getting involved in your antique shopping needs!  We have 25+ vendors that enjoy nothing more than filling their spaces with interesting and unusual finds.  If you have shopped with us before, we look forward to seeing you again in the coming year.  If you have never visited, take time to stop by and check it out our inventory of antiques, upcycled, refinished, primitive and collectible treasures.  It's always changing!  The store layout is designed to assure you have a relaxing "meander" through the vendor spaces for a different kind of an antique mall shopping experience! Connie (our store manager), Theresa (store owner) and Fern (Theresa's mother) are usually there to offer you coffee and cookies.

Saving The Best For Last! The Stockings!!

Are you staying warm??  It has been a trying week, both for the plunging temperatures and the ability to get around.  There is not much time left to finish your Christmas shopping!  I think those little things we put off to last are sometimes the hardest to find.  Stocking stuffers!  South End Antique Mall can help you with both the stockings and the “stuffing”.  We have a great selection of contemporary and vintage jewelry, figurines, stockings, and just plain cute stuff to put into those stockings.  We had a slight interruption in our regular hours this last week but we are back on track with regular hours this next week.  Be sure to stop by and have us help you finish everything up!

Winter has arrived!!  Chances are you have experienced your first light snowfall.  This is just a small taste of much more winter weather to come!  This sounds like a good excuse to curl up with a good book, a hot drink and a soft vintage quilt whenever possible!  I know so many of us these days use “E-Readers” in place of traditional books, but face it, there is nothing like the anticipation of opening the cover of a book and turning to the first page.  You know (or at least hope) there is a great story in there waiting for you. The cover graphics are terrific and a shelf full of classics makes a great decorative impact. Classic books are timeless and should be read over and over again!   Grab the coffee pot, your favorite old mug, a soft cuddly blanket and a great book (and a dog if you have one around!).  What are you waiting for? Take A Walk With Wine & Chocolate This Weekend in Aurora!

Thanks to all of you who stopped by last weekend for our Holiday sale!  If it was your first visit, we hope you had a great time and we would love to see you again.  We saw a lot of our favorite return shoppers as well!  The Holiday theme continues in Aurora this weekend.  Wine and Chocolate!! What is not to love about that!  It is all happening on Saturday and Sunday, December 3^rd & 4^th, here in Aurora.  The annual “Holiday Wine & Chocolate Walk”.  You will find great wine, great chocolate and loads of antiques.  While you are in town, do take time to stop by South End Antique Mall and check out our selection of tableware for your entertaining needs.  Sweet silver plate tidbit trays and comports for your favorite chocolates.  We have a selection of beautiful wine glasses and other glassware for your entertaining needs.

Festive Holiday "Sippers"

This is the season for entertaining!  It can be large groups or small, intimate settings.  Whatever the

occasion, it’s always fun to serve beverages in classic holiday glassware.  The deep ruby red or forest green glassware of the depression era is always a favorite this time of year.   Impress your guests with coffee mugs, decorated tumblers or just a single character cup for sipping cocoa.  The depression era and mid-century designs tend to be my favorites!  They are a little quirky and simply colorful!  Don’t miss out on the elegant cut glassware for more formal “sipping”.  Collect them throughout the year and share with your guests season after season.  They are timeless!
