Bring On The Small Stuff

A trip to your local antique mall can be an adventure!  You might be looking for just the right piece of furniture, a special lamp, the perfect china or just about anything from your childhood.  The one thing a trip the mall does NOT have to be is expensive!  There are so many ways to add interest to your home décor with just a few smaller pieces. Those classic old salt and pepper shakers look great on a shelf.  Antique linens on a towel bar, ceramic flower frogs that don’t even need the flowers to look terrific. I could go on and on but you need to make a trip to Aurora and visit South End Antique Mall and check out these treasures for yourself!  We are gearing up for an outdoor sale August 7, 8, and 9th.  We are offering everything inside and outside of the mall at 10% off with many vendors offering even deeper discounts.  Aurora Colony Visitors Association will have an outdoor Farmers Market and Antique Sale on the 8th so you can combine your trip!  Take time to put your shopping shoes on, tuck a mask into your pocket, practice your social distancing and check out all the neat treasures you will find!

It's The Small Things That Count!

With all the uncertainty whirling around these days, it seems to me it is time to start focusing on the “little” things.  Sometimes just a small change in what you normally see can be soothing and give you something else to focus on.  I love the pops of color that vintage treasures can provide to spruce up a small spot! It can be pictures, china, salt and pepper shakers, signs, etc.  Just tuck something old in a small space to give it fresh interest.  Now for some NEWS!  The Aurora Colony Visitors Association will be hosting the “Aurora Outdoor Antiques & Farmers Market” on August 8th.  There will be vendors setting up outside so you can browse through a selection of treasures!  South End Antique Mall will also be hosting an outdoor event August 7th – 9th.  We will be setting up tents in our parking lot and the field beside the store.  We will be spacing things out a little more than usual to help with social distancing.  If you feel like a visit to the country be sure and mark both events on your calendar!
